FRIDAY BAND

Valkanorr
Italy / 8:45 PM
The journey of Valkanorr began in the summer of 2021.
Their desire to venture into a world of music and adventure drove them to wield ancient “battle instruments,” slicing through the air with the sound of bagpipes and shaking the earth with the thunder of drums. No electricity, no amplification – only the strength of their muscles and the power of their breath.
Melodically, Valkanorr’s music is born from exploring and reinterpreting traditional medieval, Celtic, and Occitan melodies, soon evolving through the creation of original compositions. In 2024, they released their first album, “Di Fuoco e Terra”, an eight-track journey of original songs weaving through mystical atmospheres, pulsating rhythms, and ballads made for grand celebrations around the fire.
It is on stage, however, that the band truly expresses and conveys its essence – whether in an acoustic performance at a medieval fair, an amplified stage show, or a free street performance in the heart of a city. Whenever it is time to celebrate, Valkanorr are always ready to grab their instruments, push through the crowd, and unleash their energy!
Their drive to challenge themselves is equally strong: in the summer of 2024, Valkanorr took part in the European Celtic Contest, standing out among more than 40 bands from 7 European countries and winning 1st place in the competition organized by the Montelago Celtic Festival, the renowned festival in the Marche region of Italy.
FRIDAY BAND
Derwana
Poland / 10:30 p.m.
Derwana is a musical project originating from Warsaw, Poland, created and led by Magdalena (Magda) Przychodzka, who serves as vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, lyricist, producer, and recording sound creator.
The project has been active since at least 2013, and its music is usually described as “słowiański rock” (Slavic rock), or rock with strong elements inspired by Slavic mythology and culture: folkloric themes, legends, ritual atmospheres, and organic soundscapes. Derwana’s sound blends rock and folk elements, using traditional instruments (such as flute, violin, lutes, and ethnic instruments) together with electric guitars and more modern rock rhythms.
The project stands out for its evocative and narrative atmosphere, often inspired by myths, demons, and figures from Slavic tradition. Before founding Derwana, Magda Przychodzka collaborated with other bands and projects (including the folk/folk-metal group Vecordia) and also released solo tracks that were later incorporated into Derwana’s repertoire.
For the first time in Italy, exclusively for Triskell.
