FRIDAY BAND

Drifters

Drifters

Italy - ore 20:45

The Drifters is the band led by Tommaso Tornielli, today one of the most respected Italian interpreters of the Irish transverse flute within the Celtic traditional music scene.

A refined musician, teacher, and profound connoisseur of Irish tradition, he has dedicated his career to the study and promotion of traditional music, building over the years a solid artistic path recognized internationally.

Throughout his career, he has had the honor of sharing the stage with legendary figures of the tradition such as Frankie Gavin, one of the greatest Irish fiddlers of all time — an experience that testifies to the level and credibility he has achieved within the trad circuit.

The band performs a repertoire of Irish reels, jigs, hornpipes, and slow airs, enriched by dynamic and contemporary arrangements capable of engaging both traditional music enthusiasts and a wider audience.

The dialogue between flute, guitar, and rhythm section creates an energetic and authentic sound in which tradition is respected while also being kept vibrant and relevant.

FRIDAY BAND

Tempus

Czech Republic / 10:15 pm

Tempus is a musical band from Brno in the Czech Republic that blends world music, folk, and medieval influences with some modern rock elements.

Active since 2007, the band has established itself on the European folk and fantasy music scene thanks to a style that combines ancient and contemporary instruments. Their music draws inspiration from medieval melodies, folk traditions, and fantasy imagery, but it does not aim for strict historical reconstruction; instead, it uses historical elements to create a narrative and spectacular atmosphere during their concerts.

Tempus’ sound is characterized by a combination of modern and medieval instruments, rich and theatrical arrangements, a strong presence of traditional instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy, flutes, bagpipes and percussion, and the delicate female lead vocals of Ravena accompanied by elaborate instrumental parts.

Their concerts are often spectacular and theatrical, featuring fantasy costumes and strong interaction with the audience. For this reason, the band—who previously performed on the Triskell stage in 2024 with great success—has been deliberately invited back for this edition.
