SATURDAY BAND

Green Lads

France / 8:45 PM

The Green Lads were born at the crossroads between the codes of Irish Celtic music and the modern pulse of electro rhythms. This explosive French band brings to the stage a project that blends tradition and innovation, acoustic energy and contemporary vibes. Dressed in their unmistakable green suits, they perform from village squares to major stages and theatres across France, using their instruments to paint an energetic sonic landscape filled with vibrant colors and irresistibly danceable sounds.
Their sound is a dynamic balance between traditional Irish instruments and a modern rhythmic drive that amplifies their live impact. Fiddles, flutes, uilleann pipes, and guitar intertwine with powerful grooves and engaging atmospheres, turning every concert into a festive and electrifying experience.
Green Lads is also a story of encounters – a project enriched by the talent and passion of each musician involved. The line-up brings together two fiddlers, one flautist, one guitarist, and one tap dancer, creating a show where music and dance are in constant dialogue. Tap dance becomes an integral part of the rhythm section, adding a unique visual and percussive dimension to every performance.
On stage, the Green Lads do more than perform – they create an atmosphere, engage the audience, and transform every venue into a contemporary Celtic celebration without boundaries.

Gens d'Ys

Italy / 10:30 p.m.

Since 1993, a.s.d. Gens d’Ys has been synonymous with Irish dance in Italy. Founded by a group of friends, it soon became the first Italian academy dedicated to the traditional dances of the Emerald Isle. Thanks to the contribution of new members, participation in classes taught by Irish teachers, and especially those led by Sinead Venables, Vice World Champion, Gens d’Ys has grown into a nationwide reality. In 2022–2023 alone, it was present with 35 active branches in 31 cities, not counting the dozens of additional locations where they are invited each year to hold workshops and masterclasses. For 29 years, Gens d’Ys has worked tirelessly and with great dedication to promote Irish dance, always remembering where and with whom the journey began. The Academy maintains numerous collaborations with public and private institutions, associations, and commercial companies. For many years it has enjoyed the patronage of the Irish Embassy in Italy for the events and initiatives it organizes, as well as that of several Ministries over time. Since 2011, it has also been under the patronage of the Irish National Tourism Board, of which it is an Official Ambassador.
The balance between tradition and innovation in both teaching and performances is made possible solely by the genuine passion of its teachers and dancers for Irish dance – a passion that is essential to the very existence of the Association. They will present the unmissable Irish dance show for the 25th anniversary of Triskell, culminating in an inclusive finale that draws the audience into a vibrant whirl open to all.
