Falconry Demonstrations with Eddy’s Birds of Prey and Stray Falconry

Rapaci di Eddy.png

They were born from a passion passed on by a dear friend, whom they wished to honor by bringing this project to life. Before a certain event, birds of prey were unknown species to them… during the process they faced fears, doubts, and questions, but in the end, they succeeded!

“…falconry is an art and, as such, it must come from the heart – just as our heart chose to embark on this path.”

They will be at Triskell with 3 sessions per day, interacting with the public on Saturday, June 20th, and Sunday, June 21st, upon registration at the infopoint. They will also set up a 6-meter historical tent, bringing several species of birds of prey.

The “Glove Baptism” is included in the registration.

Falconry Demonstrations with Eddy’s Birds of Prey and Stray Falconry

Stray Falconry.png

Stray Falconry is an association dedicated to protection, education, and outreach in the field of falconry and birds of prey. Although it was formally established in 2026, the association is built upon the decades of experience of its members, gained through collaborations with other organizations and with law enforcement authorities in the recovery of wildlife, particularly birds of prey.

Stray Falconry specializes primarily in bird control and in the history of falconry from a Norse and Celtic perspective, supported by in-depth research and studies on the subject. All the birds currently cared for by Stray Falconry come from situations of relinquishment or from cases where previous owners were no longer able to manage them properly.

By ethical choice of the founder, each animal is a bird of prey that has been given a second chance, through dedicated paths of care, rehabilitation, and reintegration into activities compatible with its well-being.

At present, the association manages a wide range of birds, including buzzards, falcons, and nocturnal raptors. The association’s president, Alessio Iaboni, has over 10 years of experience in the field of bird control, historical reenactments with birds of prey, and educational programs in schools and cultural institutions (currently also in the province of Ferrara), focusing on raptors and falconry.

The association has several specialized birds, some of which are specifically trained for the ecological deterrence of pigeons. Its goal is to promote a conscious, ethical, and sustainable culture of falconry, serving the territory and the protection of wildlife.

A.S.D. Trieste Scherma Storica

Founded in February 2016, A.S.D. Trieste Scherma Storica is dedicated to the research, reconstruction, and practice of European martial arts, from the Middle Ages through the early decades of the 20th century. After an initial common preparatory year focused on the use of the British infantry sword, members may choose among four learning paths corresponding to fencing styles from four historical periods: Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Risorgimento.

Wondertell

Wondertell is a project dedicated to role-playing games that creates immersive narrative experiences for teenagers and adults. It is committed to building a safe environment where personalized and ongoing stories can unfold through continuous campaigns, one-shots, and special events, offering professionalism and quality. Wondertell does not simply “run games,” but builds dynamic worlds in which participants’ choices have a real impact on the story.

Wondertell has already collaborated with numerous organizations in Trieste in the creation of themed RPG events and continues to offer weekly and customized campaign experiences in partner venues.

In collaboration with the Historical Fencing demonstrations, Wondertell aims to create a space for historical dissemination through one of the most powerful tools of teaching and storytelling: role-playing games. Sessions will be linked to the different fencing disciplines and historical periods taught by A.S.D. Trieste Scherma Storica.

With a strong focus on storytelling, quality of the table experience, and welcoming even newcomers, Wondertell transforms each session into a shared, unique, and unrepeatable moment.

The gaming experience is further enhanced by the original interaction between what is played and what is seen.

Veya

Veya is a storyteller: she walks through the forest, listens to what surrounds her, and gathers stories to share. Veya is a narrative character, but the person who portrays her has a solid academic background and many years of experience working with children and transmitting stories. When she is not a storyteller, Veya is Pamela Tedesco, who holds a degree in Cultural Heritage Studies (archaeological specialization) and a Master’s degree in Philology and Ancient History. Over the years, she has worked as a historical researcher and as a lower secondary school teacher.
